Chapter 16: A Princess Finds Her Diaries
"Really?" He smiled.
She nodded, blinking several times. Hoping she was making the right decision,
she gulped, "Yea."
He grinned, "Oh sweetie, I promise on my life I will never hurt you. Never
in my life."
She looked at his face as she sat up and gave him a hug. She heard a cleared
throat and looked up. Only she can take away
moments like this.
Her mom fixed her dress as she opened the door slightly, "Be good Keira.
Listen to Justin. I'll be back late," and she left.
Justin turned back to Keira and turned her chin placing a tiny kiss on her
mouth. "I'm so glad you said yes."
She gave a thin smile and sat up looking at him. She was still unsure about
all this. Uncertain really at what he's meaning when he says what he says.
People say a lot and do less or nothing in the deal. By saying yes, she had
just pushed herself into another challenge. She hopes he proves her wrong.
She leaned back on the couch, closing her eyes until she felt his breath
on her neck followed by a tender press of his lips just below her chin. "What
would you like to do today?"
She opened her eyes feeling the vibrations as his voice permeated her body
awake, "I don't know."
He stood up and held out his hand. "Come on,
come with me."
She raised an eyebrow speculating his eyes, "Where're we going?"
His eyebrows dipped up and down suggestively,
"Its a secret."
She rolled her eyes, yawning loud as she got up and took his hand. She followed
him outside to his car, "What's going on?"
He sighed as he unlocked the doors, "Quit asking
questions, get in."
She blinked just to piss him off, "If I don't?"
He smirked pushing her against his car, "Trust
me, you don't want to cross me."
She giggled, pushing his body as she ran around the car to the other side
getting in as he did too. The suspense was really killing her and she wanted
to know badly what he had up his sleeve, but bit her tongue. Who knew stuff
like surprises can wake feelings in you that you never thought existed. He
reached over and took her hand kissing it, than placing it calmly on his lap.
She suddenly laughed as the song came on the radio. She shook her head as
she felt her shoulder being nudged. She turned to him just cracking up. She
couldn't hold it in, the look on his face just floored the laugher from her
system. That song was just bringing back so many memories, for her and him.
Another well known fact was she was a huge Nsync fan. Closeted, but big
nevertheless. Her favorite was JC, she always liked his voice. Justin was
alright, but JC had the better voice by far. Not even Brittany knew she liked
them. She knew about her thing for Justin when Justified came out,
but Keira would always make fun of Nsync whenever Brit mentioned them. Brit
was a fan too only voiced it more than her friend had.
She smiled remembering all that stuff. Nsync were a happy time in her life.
She never even thought about the abuse or threats she would endure from the
day. It was all forgotten when "Tearin Up My Heart" or "I Want You Back" sprung
in her mind.
Her life was an addiction to music. Everywhere and any chance she'd get,
it was an open door to her troubled world. It binded her hands from doing
things to herself that she can never take back. Yes, she thought of taking
her life. She knew what she would do too. She had a plan.
God, its been so long since she laughed that much. Or laughed at all. It
felt liberating. Almost like she could make room for more new tantalizing
sensation. The ambiguity of the just had scared a part of her. Still, it
was embraced with a grin she never knew had eyes to see.
She covered her face and calmed down a little as the radio was turned up.
Justin was singing his part and she heard the one next to her singing to
it too. That made her laugh again. She stared at the window with large grin
as he continued to sing.
So don't hang up the phone now
I'm trying to figure out just what to do
I'm goin crazy without you
You'll all I ever wanted
You'll all I ever needed, yeah
So tell me what to do now
Cuz I want you back
He turned it down and grinned at her, "Don't tell me you've never
heard of the group."
She giggled, finally facing him, "I'm not living under a rock so yea I have.
Doesn't mean I like it. I was just laughing at how gay the song was. Not that
anything has changed since those days."
Well, least she's insulting in a playful
way. Improvment. "Oh, gosh. How many times must I explain to people
that we are not gay? I'm very confident in my sexuality thank you. Hey, what's
you're favorite place in the world?"
Her eyebrows bunched in confusion, "Eh?"
He laughed, "I asked you, what's your favorite place? What's the one place
that makes you happy when you're there?"
She pulled her hair back, while studying his
face. What brought this on? "Well, there was one place I used to
go with my grandma. It was by my elementary school. I'm not even sure if
its still there. Why do you ask?"
He grinned in mystery, "OK, keep thinking of
that."
"Huh?" still, she was confused.
"Shush up and just think about that place."
"Not cool."
"Shoosh!" he put his finger on her lips.
She licked his finger playfully and he pulled back, "Gross.
Behave yourself now."
She laughed, "That's not the only thing you want me to lick. Stop
lying already."
OK, this is Keira when she's not being a bitch or making you wanna kill
yourself. She's horny when she's not those things. I can deal, she just
a kid. "You have that switched my dear girl. I'm actually surprised
you have so much willpower. Most girls would kill to get at 3rd base with
me."
He heard a scoffed from her, "Boo! Sorry to disappoint Justin, Jr. I ain't
interested in a damn thing. So all those other girls are not like me. And
you do want me, its just a matter of time until you admit it to me."
He smiled when he was getting close to his destination, "Shut up and close
your eyes Keira."
He could feel the pout exuding, "Why?"
"Close them eyes girl."
"Jeez, whitebread, don't have a cow! Fine, just
promise its somewhere good," she closed her eyes.
"Oh you'll love it," he pulled into the parking lot and killed the
engine.
He turned to her, "OK, hold on a sec. Keep em closed."
She heard the door open and shut, than she felt her door open, and than
she felt his hand on her's, "Step out I gotcha."
She smiled as she took his hand and got out. The smell was so familiar.
She knew that smell and grinned with her eyes closed, "Can I open them?"
He laughed, than kissed her, "Sure."
She opened her eyes slowly and gasped instantly. "Serrania Park! How did
you know?"
He blushed a little as he took a blanket from his trunk, "I saw the picture
of you and your grandma. It was written on the back too."
Keira was nearly going to cry at this man. Why? Was all she could ask. She
smiled. That doesn't matter. She can trust him now. Trust him with the rest
of her life. She ran up and gave him a strong hug, not shy of anything anymore,
"You have no idea how much this means Justin. No idea. There's so much to
show you, come on!"
She pulled him up the little hillway and into the children's play area.
She opened the gate and ran the swing she always swung in. She laughed, remembering
so many things at once, "This is was my swing when Grandma used to take me
here. I used to always want to go higher but she was always put my safety
first. I was stubborn to say the least. She gave in one time though, that
was just... the best time I've had."
Justin came over placed the blanket on the plastic horse and knelt down
in front of her, "Well, do you want me to take you higher now?"
Keira threw her head back and laughed looking in his eyes. His face was
so serious. She couldn't help it. The other meaning of that sentence she
ignored for now. He was of course talking about the swing, not her. She
looked at him, his face still serious, spawning another laugh from her mouth,
"Yeah, alright."
He got behind her, and pushed her above his head lettering her momentum
swing fast. She swung her feet to go faster even though she was high enough.
She started laughing from the rush she was getting. She suddenly felt 7 again.
All her 7-year-old expressions had come back and she couldn't get rid of them.
She looked over at Justin and waved childlike.
Justin waved back smiling as he sat down and watched her, leaning again
the slide. This girl was gonna be the death of him that's for sure. All those
times they kissed, god he felt something. It was something unexplainable.
Maybe she was exactly what he had been looking for. Unlike sex, kisses mean
so much to him. They were like when a heart looks at another's and sighs contentedly.
He had fun with sex. It was pretty much that way with Cameron. She was sweet
and cuddly, at times she can be a bit transparent. If its one thing Justin
has a problem with, its fake people. He name countless times where he found
himself just questioning everything.
Just seeing Keira laugh brought all of the Millington
emotions. Back home with his mom. Before Justified and Nsync were
birthed. A time where its was OK to laugh, OK to cry, just OK. She makes things
simple again. He hasn't even had sex with her and he's already nuts about
her. Man, if he wanted to, he could fuck women senseless and never look back.
That's how its been before this all happen. Before Keira happened.
But now, its a little different. He looks at things with a more straighter
mind. He's open to discovering new concepts along the road. Man, its been
interesting one. Hearing her laugh made him just want to kill all those who
take that emotion away from her.
He doesn't have to hide around this girl. Maybe its intuition or not. Maybe
its something he's learning thoughout this journey. They were both on it.
Now that he knows the real her, he couldn't think of a more better person
live it with. Keira doesn't know it yet, or if she does, she better know it
hard and good. He's not letting her out his sight while he has air in his
lungs.
All this thinking made him think about asking her to stay with him. All
he knows is around each other, they're themselves. He felt a hand on his
cheek and looked up. She squinted her eyes and sat on the sand in front of
him, "Something wrong?"
For the first time, he actually listened to that question and thought of
his answer. What shocked him was the truth in it, "Everything's good."
Keira leaned up and gave him a soft kiss. When she pulled back he pulled
her head closer with his hands. She stared at him in concern, the way he was
staring her with that intense stare of his peeved her a bit. She watched him
lick his lips and speak, "When will I hear you sing?"
She rolled her eyes. This guy's pretty persistant.
"When ya stop askin me."
